Nova Southeastern University is often called NSU. Its motto, “engage, inspire, achieve” says it all as far as the expectations placed on students that attend the prestigious university’s Palm Beach Campus. As a college student, tuition payments need to be tended to, and grades need to be maintained. This situation can make it hard for a student to have much spending money, especially when it comes to eating out. That doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your taste buds, however, as there are plenty of budget-friendly restaurants near Nova Southeastern University. Here are some of the most affordable eateries in the Boyton Beach area.

Pub Food: Brass Ring Pub

You cannot get much better than Brass Ring Pub as far as pub fare goes. Get your fill of wings and burgers at this lively venue. Its claim to fame is the ultimate bar burger that they’ve been serving since they first opened in 1986. It comes with a half-pound all-beef patty delivered by the butcher next door, Nebraska Meats, and a side of wavy chips. Watch your favorite sports games on one of their eight high-def TVs or hang out with some friends and play a game of pool. They also have an excellent selection of beer on tap and a jukebox full of old tunes.

Old American Diner: Green’s Pharmacy

If you want that sixties vibe, Green’s Pharmacy will suit your desires. Sit atop one of their green vinyl stools and choose from their extensive lunch and breakfast selections. Some of their breakfast specials include the typical fare of eggs, omelets, corned beef hash, and home fries. If you are in the mood for lunch, then their grilled sandwiches and fresh burgers are delicious. Finish off your meal with one of their famous milkshakes or ice-cream sodas for a real treat.

Neighborhood Burger Joint: Grease Burger Bar

Grease Burger Bar is home to a broad selection of hand-pounded 10-ounce burgers made from freshly ground beef. If you are looking for a healthier meal, then they also offer chicken sandwiches and salads at a reasonable price. They also have an enormous assortment of craft beer with over 70 tap and bottle choices. The low prices and walls covered in flat-screens tuned into various sports games are what bring university students to this joint. With the huge square footage, you likely won’t have to wait for a table either.

Date Night Material: Café Centro

When you want to impress your date, but don’t wish to burn a hole in your wallet, Café Centro’s stylish but comfortable atmosphere will serve you nicely. The wooden-beamed ceiling and exposed brick walls give this eatery a modern feel. Its northern Italian cuisine is simple but tasty. Try their fettuccine carbonara or Linguine Pescatore for a delightful pasta dish, or their grilled yellowtail snapper for lighter seafood fare. They also have fantastic pizzas that are perfect for sharing. Try one of their appetizers like the crab cakes or steamed clams for a sophisticated introduction.
